Atita Taware is born in India and currently based near Mumbai, working with installations, in various mediums like ceramics, digital video-photography, found objects and ephemeral artworks. Her works centre primarily on topics of biodiversity degradation, awareness of endemic and endangered species, land conversions, essence of life and self-existence.
She has a dynamic art education base. She attended the J. J. School of Arts, Mumbai for her master’s program (2010-2012), BhartiVidyapeeth College of fine arts, Pune for B.F.A. (2009-2010), L.S. Raheja School of art, Mumbai for G.D.Art (2005 - 2009), Indian Art School, Mumbai, Foundation (2004-2005) where she learned the essential art traditions and methods while still maintaining creative exploration. Her work has been featured in several Group Exhibitions like Distant Mirrors - Altefabrik, Switzerland 2017, The Art Resort Goa 2017, PratyaAgati Curated by Hedi K Ernst and Meret Schmidheiny 2017, Girls Only India curated By Antonia Marsh 2016. ICIA Art Gallery 2013 and Art festivals like Spot Art Singapore 2014, United Art Fair Delhi 2012, India Art Festival 2011 receiving great motivation. She has received a fellowship to travel and work in Switzerland for three months by Futur Foundation, Switzerland and setting up a solo exhibition named “Biophilia”,at Kunsthjunghus, Rapperswill, Switzerland 2013.
